mandatory monday: the making of thriller
so…n.i.c here, now taking over the mandatory…and i know, there’s been a lot of mike as of late…A LOT of mike. i know the circus and the lights–the tributes, the special releases, the news continuum (as opposed to “cycle”, doesn’t really end anymore ever so it can’t really start afresh, my “newshit”, anyways) that will undoubtedly keep mj not “in peace” until 2010 have just begun. BUT, decided it was mandatory for me to started this month’s mandatorys with a clip from “the making of thriller”. why? if you ever come across my facebook profile, under favorite movies, i have “the making of thriller”. i didn’t just write that shit to be quirky and try to sound more interesting (i steal tomo quotes and adriel’s itunes for that)…naw man, on the contrary, that’s real shit. my older brother loved only two things growing up: michael jackson and werewolves. so naturally, i had to watch “the making of thriller” every. single. day. until i was old enough to play by myself (when “the five heartbeats” came out, we occasionally threw that on the agenda too). needless to say, i now consider it a mandatory to see the genius at work behind something like “thriller”.
