As we sat in front of Bruce and Brandon Lee’s memorials in Seattle, we realized that without his aggressive philosophy of multi-ethnic inclusion and cultural immersion, we might not have existed. Before the LA riots, slew of conflict-romanticizing films, and crab-bucket propaganda campaigns, how powerful must it have been to see two iconic heavyweights — Bruce Lee and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar – collaborating, learning from one another, and sharing great friendship? Beyond just solidarity, they shared a brotherhood that has inspired generations.
