Welcome to Fantom Island, where iLL-Literacy's legend finds its habitat. If you've happened upon this portal, may we be as bold as to assert that nested in you is a healthy curiosity. Whether you were drawn here by the Slanted i at this page's 1-o-clock, the quick flash of during loading, or simply because you have a click-happy finger – you've arrived. HihowRUhi?

The peculiar thing about Fantom Island is that it is but a mirage – an Imaginary oasis isolated in the confines of our brainwaves. We shall gradually reveal morsels of our folklore here, so please visit often. To return, simply bring your Imagination as your passport.

ILL-EVENT | NYC: Tonight "I Love Vinyl"

Tonight marks pretty much the only monthly event that I would trek through the snow on foot to get to.  Okay, maybe not on foot, but at least on horseback wearing thermals (me, not the horse).  And though my hypocrisy might already be shining through (I unfortunately won’t be able to make it because I’ll be up to my elbows in Filipino student organizers), that shouldn’t prevent you from getting to what has certainly become my favorite party since moving to the big apple.  I Love Vinyl features a star-studded lineup of our DJ homies, including DJ Amir, OP!, and Ge-Ology, and this month they take it higher with Soundway Records, Wax Poetics and a chance to win the Ghana Special 5LP Box Set.  And just so you understand the extent of genuineness these true crate diggers possess, privy* yourself to DJ Amir’s short brushes with death (rat death, that is) in this interview:

Details at ILoveVinyl.org.  Because WTF’s a Serato?

*that wasn’t an accurate use of the word privy but you get my point
