We’re about to end our first studio session of the year…30 straight hours in the studio no joke!!!!! We’ve initiated 6 tracks for the EP, which will end up being 5 or 6 tracks in total, so we’re off to a good start! Mondays and Tuesdays will be dedicated to studio sessions at The Boondocks in Sacramento, and the rest of the week we’re writing and conceptualizing on our own, and also working on our individual projects.
Being that we’re delving deeper into the full-time artist thang, we’ve realized that we have to operate on a semi-academic/dayjob schedule in order to prevent procrastination and/or ending up in December 2009 wondering where the year went. This means HOMEWORK except the fun kind! For this week, I’ve assigned the following albums for all of us to study for inspiration, influences, samples, and to develop our critical ears. Care to join us? I’ve listed the albums we have to listen to from front to back this week, and also a track from each album for you because I’m geek like that. We’ll keep you posted on our weekly assignments as we put together our first official recorded project.
