
I have to admit that these past couple of weeks I’ve been so in my iB4the1 zone that I’ve hardly had the time or energy to sit down and listen to any new music. Actually, I’ve been so nervous I just listen to Regina Spektor all night until I cry myself to sleep. But nothing can snap me out of my driven-emo trance (or is it emo-driven?) than a new record from the almighty legend Denizen Kane! I just copped mine and have listened to it twice straight through.
The brother has been a dear dear friend of mine since his move from Chicago to the Bay some 7-odd years ago, and before that he was the focus of my just-discovered-underground-hiphop-and-the-internet-at-the-same-time crash course on all things sonically dope. His music has deeply influenced my personal artistic development, and is simply a great man like one I strive to be. Plus his flow sicka than the Lake Merritt pipeline, yadigggggggg?
