FUTURE OF THE FUNK | Google Goggles

Posted by drizzletron ·December 9th, 2009 · 1 Comment · Video, future of the funk

As I sit here in my Brooklyn basement, getting ready to catapult myself across the country in a flight where I’ll have wireless internet, I am thoroughly amazed by how far we’ve come as humans.  Forever a skeptic, every time any new technology surfaces, I approach it with a bittersweet fascination in the marvel of what our minds can create, and intense fear for the destruction that we could bring upon ourselves.  But every once in awhile, I’ll find a pocket of air from my paranoia, and actually be able to wholeheartedly geek out.  With my affinity for the digital world, I would imagine being HELLA frustrated had I existed in the feudal ages.

So sit back, enjoy this video about the new search engine that can find information from a photograph, and try not to think about the fact that we’re becoming a world of spies for Big Brother Googletron.

A soon-to-be triumph for gold-diggers everywhere! When the technology is able to identify fashion by designer and brand, I am all about goggles!
