SXSW is approaching quickly…the show is beginning to take shape…THE PRESSURE IS ON!! One thing I’ve learned during my episode on this earth is that as wack as procrastination is, there’s nothing like a close deadline to bring out the best in us. More rehearsal footage coming soon, but if you’re gonna be in Austin come check out our show! It’s our only performance at SXSW, so get it while it’s hot!

Okay, in a bit we have to grab some shovels and dig through a mountain of snow to find what is a frozen version of my car. We make the long trek to the University of Maryland, College Park for the 11th annual FIND Conference. Not much more that I can say, except for the fact that I totally googlemapped the wrong city last night when deciding whether I could afford to sleep for more than 3 hours. Oyoyoyoyoy…
It’s coming! It’s coming! It’s so close I can smell it! Sunshine! Warm weather! Mexicans! So much that I haven’t seen ever since winter came to New York, and it’s going to be in abundance when we hit Austin next month! Oh, also, I heard there’s a pretty cool music festival going on.
Here’s our official showcase info, people. We’ll probably remind you a billion more times over the course of the next few weeks, but just take note…if you’re gonna be at SXSW, do drop by and say hi. If not, we’ll be doing our best to keep you updated. We’re even bringing a special friend with us!
We’ll be playing with a really great lineup at The Independent on Saturday March 20, along with League510, Tanya Morgan, Black Sheep, Souls of Mischief, and Black Milk! (Don’t you love that I act like you can’t read the flyer above?)
Wowzers my people! In the last couple of weeks we’ve seen a huuuuuge influx of booking requests I just had to express it using Inspector Gadget lingo! It looks like our Spring tour is going to be the fullest yet…15 dates in the works and counting! We still have a lot of confirming and planning and cartwheels to do (cartwheels are an integral part of booking hiphopfunkspokenword shows, duhhhhhhh) but before we do the official announcement we wanted to give you a taste of what we have in store, as well as put it out there that we’re still open to booking more shows!
We especially love working with student organizers, so if you’re looking to bring a few twixters in legoheads to terrorize the people of your campus, HIT US UP DAWG. (that’s a horrible way to promote myself…you’ll do better by checking out our press kit and EPK). Hit us with your info below and I shall personally get back to you. Drizzletron’s word.
Also, hit the jump for our top-secret list of cities that we’re working on (it’s top secret, which is why you have to hit a link to view it).
University of Virginia is one of our absolute favorite campuses! Besides having rocked 2 shows there in the past years, it was one of the first campuses where we succeeded in bringing together Asian American and African American student organizations. We haven’t hit the stage much this fall, as we prepare for our brand new live show, but to show our appreciation we’ll be making the drive over to Charlottesville tomorrow reveal some brand new material. If you’re in town, come on by!
It’s morning time…Nico’s still sleeping (poor baby was up all night sending files to the mixer). We’re heading to Silver Fork (the only spot in Seattle where you can order grits??) and then heading to Bumbershoot. Here’s our show info:

Apologies in advance for the disgusting gushiness of this post, but sometimes I have to humor my high school backpacker self. I got this email from Okayplayer announcing the Bumbershoot list and guess what???? We made the highlighted lineup! Last on the list, baby!!!
Being that we’re quite used to being a part of the “and so much more” part of these things, I’m quite geeked. ‘Tis all.
After a long hiatus, our original keyboardist Nikki Hi-Life joins the band just in time for Dahlak’s farewell party in Sacramento tonight! It’s a reunion of sorts, really…if you’re in town, roll through. We leave the West Coast in 4 days.
