Our jam session homie and Michael Cera’s arch-nemesis, George Watsky, apparently took over 1,500 photos to create this music video for his new single “I Got This Love.” I say BALDERDASH!  Just one look at his jittery movements in daily life will prove that what appears to be a stop-motion animation is actually just awkwardness.  Infinite and neverending awkwardness.

For real though, this short film is quite incredible, and the fact that he did this with a couple of his homies proves the power of Do-It-Yourself-ness.  From his upcoming album Watsky, and features Passion, who also makes an appearance on our next single, “The HereNow,” which officially drops tomorrow (though if you’re savvy on the tweets you might – I’VE SAID TOO MUCH!!

Well, we’re approaching the end of the Natural Electricity Tour, and like always, we’ve been doing a horrible job of keeping y’all updated on our excursions.  The good news is that we’ve got loads of photos and footage both on and offstage, and we’ll be sure to put you on game as soon as we get some time to go through it all.

In the meantime, here’s some footage of an impromptu jam session that broke out in the Boston basement of our iLL-homies Invisible Inc., who rocked with us at our Boston College show on the 10th.  Definitely one of the highlights of the tour, members of iLL-Literacy, the Hi-Lifes, and Invisible Inc. all falling into a cypher that listed until the wee hours of the morning.  This is part one, and we’ve got some mo fo yo ass in the near future.  Keep it locked!!!!

Today the Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Festival hit Lafayette Park in front of the White House to speak on their views of America’s crumbling educational system. Speakers included Dahlak and Adriel of iLL-Literacy, Amiri Baraka, Chinaka Hodge, George Watsky, Marc Bamuthi Joseph, Lauren Whitehead, Jose Vadi, and dozens of youth from throughout the world.
